Boomer, Rescued May 17, 2008
Estimated to be 4 yrs old his weight is only FORTY POUNDS!!!
Update June 22, 2008
The photos below say it all!
No dog gets into this condition overnight! Boomer clearly went without regular, or possibly without any, access to food for a prolonged period of time.
As a cost saving measure he has already had to be transferred back to Sara his coordinator in order for sub-Q fluids to be administered because he was unable to keep food down. Between the fluids, special food from the Vet and an acupuncture treatment he is beginning to respond. However he has a long road ahead of him and could sure use your help!
Your contribution today toward Boomer's special medical and food needs would go a long way to ease the foster's concern about the expenses that seem to be multiplying rapidly.
As is always the case, our committment to you, is your donation will be applied as you designate and 100% of your donation helps the dogs! All donations for Boomer are being documented and every donation is used as intended until all the needs, of the specified dog, are met.
Please indicate your donation is intended to benefit Boomer!

Boomer Continues to Progress!
Make sure you check Boomer's Rescue Blog for additional Updates!
As of Tuesday, June 17th, day 33 since his rescue, Boomer has gained 25 lbs and now weighs 65 lbs. He is still having serious problems with stamina and that delays his progress in the muscle development area but otherwise is doing GREAT! As his stamina increases he will be able to exercise more so it really is still just a matter of time.
Thank You Everyone! Boomer's story continues to touch the hearts of many! and contributions toward his recovery are very much appreciated as they are making it possible to provide his special needs.
Boomer now has an Extra Special Angel, SSG Joe Ray was killed by an IED in Afghanistan. One of the last pictures his family has of him is holding a military Malinois in his arms. Boomer's story has touched Joe Ray's family, just as Joe Ray's story has now touched ours.

Boomer is Beginning to Mend
Boomer has started on the long road to mending. Three weeks of the vet prescribed diet combined with 4 meals a day (the last at midnight) and he definitely no longer looks like a bag of bones but, he still has a long way to go. He has very little energy and no stamina, his muscle is going to take a very long time to rebuild because rebuilding can't begin until his energy and stamina levels are high enough for him to sustain exercise.
Thank You! Each and everyone one of you that contributed for Boomer's care! Without each of you Boomer's current level of progress would not have been possbile. Your donations are what made it possible to meet his special nutritional and medical requirements!
You are all AWESOME!

The photos below have not been altered to exaggerate his condition. If anything his two fosters say they make him look better than he does in person!
