Belgian Malinois Rescue Contacts
by Region & State
Shelters are encouraged to visit Is It A Belgian Malinois or German Shepherd (GSD) and ID a Malinois for help in determining the need to contact Malinois Rescue Volunteers. In the event that the shelter still feels that the dog in their care is a Belgian Malinois the next step is to contact the person or persons listed below CLOSEST to the shelter. Each of these people are willing to take your phone call or e-mail concerning possible Belgian Malinois in need of rescue; they in turn will use the many means at their disposal to contact someone within the rescue network in your vacinity.
The first step will be positively IDing the Belgian Malinois and
accessing the need to find foster housing. Many times this can and has been accomplished quickly but, please, we beg of you, DO NOT leave it until the last possible day. Each person doing rescue has a family and job, if they don't get your notice until they return home in the evening there is
virtually nothing they can accomplish in the short time remaining.
If you find it necessary to contact one of these people please make sure that you have the necessary information available. Type of help desired, location of Malinois in need, has positive identification been made, names, phone numbers and/or e-mail address of person responsible for the welfare of the Malinois. If possible this should include the name of the
person that can authorize release of the canine should it be accepted as a rescue.
Contacts highlighted in Blue will use American Belgian Malinois Rescue procedure and
paperwork in obtaining the release of the Malinois into rescue. Malinois
accepted into foster care will be spayed or neutered prior to placement in a
new home.
Contacts highlighted in Pink are independant of American Belgian Malinois Rescue and will adhere to the rescue concept of spaying and neutering prior to placing a rescue. Their procedure and paperwork may vary from AMBC Rescue, but, they are just as committed to rescuing.
