Baltimore Malinois

Photos & Updates on Baby Girl from the Baltimore Rescue

Sponsors: Christine Walls; & Michael Simon, On behalf of Julie

Our sincere Thanks! and Malinois Hugs go out to each and every person that responded to this Emergency Rescue. While many people offered sponsorship of the dogs, others indicated that their donation should provide food or be applied where needed. We have foster homes for all but three of them and the first five are either in their foster home as of last night, 4/14/07, or will arrive shortly.

The Rescue Volunteers have dubbed them *The Dirty Dozen*, however the first ones to move out of the kennel are reported, by transporters and fosters, to be typical Malinois choosing to stay clean when provided an opportunity to eliminate outside. Yipppeeee!!!!! Let's hope that trend continues!

What sweet, sweet dogs these are! Baby Girl is so laid back - and Sunny, well he's not as laid back, but just as sweet!

Baby Girl's, renamed Nikki, Foster Home 4/30/07

Baby Girl (who've we renamed Nikki) is really starting to become a dog, and it's nice to see. Still working on the house breaking - yesterday was the first mistake free day. I find she isn't giving off cues at all before she goes. Her normal behavior is pacing in a circle, which I guess is because she spent all of her life in a cage.

NIkki will be spayed Thursday May 3rd.

Baby Girl's Transport to Foster 4/21/07

Baby Girl will not have to experience a long transport. Her new foster home is 30 minutes from the temporary foster so by Sunday 4/22/07 Baby Girl will be in her permanent foster home ready to receive all the love and cuddling they are prepared to give.

Baby Girl is moving forward :-) She has only been here since Wednesday, and she is starting to walk around and wag her tail much more. She has stopped jumping up (more of a comfort thing- has to touch you), and I think she feels more confident. She still is having some accidents in the house, but she picks the sun room to pee, and with the carpet being very old, it's probably the best place to do it:-) LOL

She crates well and settles in quickly. I am now able to take her outside and she actually will leave my side to go to the bathroom. You should've seen me in the middle of the yard in my pjs trying to get this dog to pee! LOL My neighbors probably think I have cracked!

Last night we had family activities that required us to be gone from 5-9. We came home and Baby Girl did not mess in her crate!!!! Then, woke up this morning, and no mess!!!

Everytime she is in her crate, she messes in there. When I take her outside, I put her on a leash, because if not, she won't leave my side to go to the bathroom. I have washed 3 loads of dog towels in two days, and had to steam clean 4 times. She is going to be tough.....

Baby Girl's Initial Transport to Temporary Foster Home

None of these dogs will go up or down stairs. I'm sure they don't know what they are, nor were they allowed in the house to experience these.

Very, very sweet! Follows you around. Loves to be with people. Outgoing dog! Almost had my husband convinced we should foster her --------ALMOST! LOL

They are awesome, no one went to the bathroom in their kennel last night, and all went straight out this morn and did their business. Potty training shouldn't be so bad with these guys. They are really smart, although they haven't figured out the step that leads to the yard!
