MEET Stitch!
This playful 8-month old pup is a handful - with a ton of confidence and energy, she came into rescue “jumpy, bitey, and rude”.  For the most part, jumpy no longer exists, bitey is down to an occasional nibble (some biting if we escalate into rough play), and rude is disappearing with daily obedience training.  She will attack the broom; if you bring out a bath towel, the game of tug-of-war is on!

Stitch will require an active home with breed experience.  With a strong desire to learn and a lot of potential,  she could excel at many things - may even be a good candidate for nose work. Food motivated and prey driven, she’s obsessed with catching lizards and chasing poison toads around the yard (working on stopping that has been a challenge).

She does well with other dogs of all sizes and people that she meets.  She has met children a few times without any negative results (stealing a stuffed animal doesn’t count). She also met a cat in a carrier at the vet’s office, seeming curious without being over the top crazy.

At 48 lbs, I feel that she is going to be on the smaller size for the breed (only time will tell). Her back legs angle out a little from her knees, instead of being straight up and down; the vet says this should not be an issue; she was born that way and it won’t need to be treated – it certainly doesn’t slow her down!  Overall, she is a strong and healthy pup; she is getting more coordinated and faster every day. She is nearly 100% housebroken (training is still in progress and going well).

I think that Stitch will be a great addition to an active Malinois-savvy family that will continue working with her possibly with the guidance of an experienced Malinois trainer.
