Gus is a 1 yr old  recently neutered male. He came into Rescue with a fractured front leg, but this was corrected through surgery and Gus is expected to make a full recovery with low risk of early osteoarthritis in the fractured paw.

Gus is a happy, energetic pup who loves to play tug and lives for his ball.   He has very high energy and high drive!  This is NOT A PET...Gus is a working dog through and through, and will need a very experienced handler who will used balanced training, including fair, firm corrections when needed, and give him a job.  No weekend warriors, Gus  needs worked/trained daily!  He bonds very close to his person  and wants to please...but also kind of wants to get his own way too, and he will let you know it!   Gus can be a challenge.  Now that he is cleared from the vet to train, Gus is  learning obedience, scent work, and being evaluated for his full potential..the sky is the limit with this boy, and ABMR will do what is needed to ensure proper placement.  Gus is friendly with others with proper introductions although he is protective.  He was a good boy at the vet, he loves to ride in cars, he loves to do just about anything and is very environmentally sound with very focused attention. He is very, very smart, but not reactive.  He is good with other dogs.  Gus does not like to be bored.  He is crate trained, but will often let you know his displeasure at being on one, but to be fair, he has been just about living in his crate due to physical restrictions during his recovery.
