About Ringo - CT | |

|
Meet Ringo! In two words, Ringo is a sweet goofball. At 1.75 years old and 65lbs, he is a bundle of joy, energy and love. He loves those around him and his toys. He will play wherever and whenever. Ringo loves his walks, hikes, rides in the car, playing in the water/rivers, and exploring. Like any Malinois, Ringo is very active and a bit rambunctious at times, but he has an “off switch” and also enjoys relaxing, cuddling and napping with his favorite person/family.
Ringo was rescued from an overseas meat market as a young dog. It’s horrible to think what he must have gone through as a pup, but you’d never know it now based on his mannerisms and temperament. According to his foster’s veterinarian, Ringo is in great physical condition and completely healthy. He is neutered and up to date on his shots/vaccines.
Ringo is missing some minor teeth between his canines. The vet said it’s most likely from chewing on a cage or chain as a puppy, but the gums have healed over with no health concerns. Ringo also has a very distinct front paw print. One of his toes was broken as a puppy, healed on its own and is perched up a little higher on his foot. This does not affect him in any way…even running and playing hard. The tip of his left ear is also missing but he’s still the cutest Malinois ever with his black face and black “knee socks.”
In addition to all his other wonderful attributes, Ringo is house trained. He is also crate trained. He walks well on the leash and also enjoys going for runs. He can be reactive at times to new dogs, trucks and situations, but appears to be easily redirected with food and attention. This is something he will likely grow out of with more exposure and proactive training. Ringo is very smart and responsive -- he wants to please and make people happy. His foster has been working to reinforce basic obedience/manners and Ringo responds quickly to positive reinforcement methods. Ringo gets to visit his foster’s parents who also have two smaller dogs. They get along great and he bonded quickly with them all. It is unknown how he is around cats and young kids so he won’t be adopted out to homes with either.
Ringo needs a home that will continue to work with him and allow him to explore his many interests. He does very well with structure and a routine and adjusts to new situations very quickly. He loves his treats and is very food motivated. Ringo’s foster feels his best calling will be as a faithful companion, possibly with some agility, scent work or dock diving. This cuddle bug is truly a great pup and he’s looking for an active forever home where he can join in every kind of activity and fulfill his potential to be a devoted, loving companion who is excited about every adventure that life has to offer.
Only homes in the northeast will be considered for Ringo.
ABMR thanks you for taking the time to look at our malinois available for adoption.
