Looking for a new queen for your pridelands? Look no further than Sarabi, named after the lioness from the Disney film, The Lion King. Sarabi is only 2 years old so technically perhaps still a princess, but with your loving guidance she will grow to be a queen!

Sarabi is living with her foster family in Ohio, but reasonable transport may be arranged. She is HW negative, and up to date on all vaccinations. She will be spayed while in foster care. She is an owner surrender and has had a litter of healthy pups.

Sarabi hasn’t had an easy go of it for her first two years, and some of her quirks may be due to her tough start in life. She was bounced around from home to home, and is slow to warm up to new people. She shows shyness, timidity, and some aloofness to new people – not at all surprising given her background! She is a perfect project dog for an owner interested in working with her to overcome her fears and challenges, to bring out her inner goofy queen. She has been working with a trainer in foster care and shows great promise – a typical mali-girl, she is eager to please and learns quickly. She has already made great strides. Her personality and drive add up to a Queen of the Couch and Back Yard type malinois – not a working quality mal.

She has high food drive (hot dogs are her high value food), and despite loving her ball as a comfort item, has low ball drive. She will need to continue working on her training in her adoptive home. She is sensitive and requires fairness from her handler. She needs to understand what’s being asked of her and cannot tolerate heavy handed corrections.

An experienced malinois home with no cats or kids under 13 would be best for Sarabi. She will do well as an only dog or with a home that can crate and rotate until she is comfortable. With time and patience, she may be able to get integrated with a resident pack.

She will require a fenced in yard (this is negotiable with an experienced malinois owner). She can easily clear a 6 ft fence in order to visit the neighbors. She is working on crate training and has never broken out of a crate, but will do some barking and fussing before settling down.
