Nala was a stray found in Tennessee and is now in a wonderful foster home in Kentucky.  But Nala really wants her very own forever home!  Nala is about 18 months old.  She is as sweet as can be and gets along with other dogs.  She prefers people however, and is very affectionate!  She is smart and has basic obedience and walks great on a leash.  She has a nice recall, but prefers to not be very far away from her person!!  Nala does have some separation anxiety and will need a home where she does not have to be crated or left alone for very long.  She will bark and try to get out of her crate.  However, she is excellent in public, and if your job allows, she would love to come to work with you and promises to be very good!  Everyone will love her!

Nala has had 2 failed adoption.  In the first one, the other Malinois was fighting with her.  This set her back a bit and it took some time for her to recover emotionally.  In her second home, she developed a very unhealthy, resource-guarding relationship with the elderly wife.  We think it was a bad reaction to some anti-anxiety meds they put her on in a misguided attempt to help her transition after her first home.  Nala is back with her original foster and other than the separation anxiety, we are not seeing any other behavioral issues, and she is fine with the other dogs in the home and with other people.   She was very good in her first, "temp foster" as well.  However, due to some of the resource guarding she showed in her one home, ABMR prefers not to place her with very young children. 

While she is very good with others in pubic and guests, at home, she does tend to bond very close with one person in the family, and would do best in a smaller household that can manage this

Nala has low prey drive, and lived with a cat in her first foster briefly but has not been exposed to the kitties since.  She currently lives with smaller dog, but toy breeds are unknown. 

Nala is a very nice girl, lower drive and energy level, but still a fun dog.  She loves to play and gladly will give up a ball so you can throw it again..and again...and again!.  She would love to be your new best friend and explore the world together!  She is house trained with a nice off-switch, and loves to ride in the car and go anywhere you go!!
