Meet Austin. She is about 1.5 yrs old, HW-, update to date on shots, and microchipped. (She will be spayed prior to adoption.) She is very petite at 40 lbs. 

She needs an experienced, patient home with other dogs. Austin is very skittish of new people and loud noises and paces and runs laps when she gets anxious.  She appears to have had no prior socialization with people before coming to ABMR, but she is fine with other dogs once she gets to know them.  She will take food from your hand, but takes a long time to warm to people. She seems to be more frightened of men, but will warm to them eventually as she now naps with her foster dad and their other Mal on the bed.  She will cuddle with you if other dogs are doing the same, but she does not generally seek out physical affection yet.  She will come up to you and sniff you, take treats, etc. and follows her foster parents around the house and is happy to see her foster parents when they return home.  She does go on walks and has just started walking on a gentle leader.  With time, she would be a great running partner as she hates to miss out on the action.

Austin LOVES to play with her foster's Mal and has learned the schedule of the household. She is very treat oriented and has high ball drive and is obsessed with the Chuck It stick and ball and loves to run around the yard. "Have Chuck It will travel"...her foster will send the Chuck It with her since it's her favorite. She also loves peanut butter, ice cubes and elk antlers. She may be a good candidate for dock diving or Frisbee as she is lightweight and can really fly.

Due to her anxiety, she needs to be with someone who can dedicate significant amounts of time to her. She would do best in a home with multiple dogs and no young children as loud noises and sudden movements do scare her, but she is getting more accustomed to household noises, etc. everyday.
