3-year old Maxwell, located in Montgomery, AL, has completed his heartworm treatment and is ready for his forever home.

Maxwell immediately becomes bonded to his family, especially the member who does not mind rough housing with him. In this case, his foster dad. Before his treatment, he enjoys fetching and jumping for frisbees. He would very much like a job and is treat motivated. While with his foster family, he has learned how to shake. He knows basic commands and is house trained. He does not mind other dogs his size, however still recommend slow introductions. Maxwell is still unsure of small dogs, which leads us to believe he has a prey drive, but with the proper and consistent training he will learn to enjoy them. He does not like yappers or other dogs jumping at his face. He does have a scar on his muzzle and on one side of his right eye, which may be from a previous quarrel. He has not shown any aggression towards his foster brothers and sister canines. In fact, backs off as if he is scared. Maxwell is an over greeter, including jumping and licking your face. He will tolerate baths and does not like getting his paws wet when its raining. He does not mind storms. Maxwell is also good with kids. He will do well in a home that has experience with the breed or in a home that would like to learn about them as an only dog.

He is a very nice boy, friendly with people and kids. Seems okay with other dogs, but has not been completely tested with them. Not been tested with cats.
