Gabriel is 1.5 yrs old, and is the best hugger ever!  He's energetic, smart, and very eager to please!   Currently in PA, near Lancaster. ABMR Gabriel is neutered and up to date with his shots. He is a bit too much for his current foster, and Rescue is looking for someone to further assess this nice boy and he can go as foster to adopt. He is a typical Mal in many ways, very mouthy, and will nip or jump up for attention. He is very affectionate and rides well in the car. While very accepting of other people with proper introduction, Gabriel does have some leash reactivity and high prey drive. He wants to chase anything that moves, although he is easily redirected. He has not shown aggression, just gets a little excited!. He has very high food drive, and loves his toys and loves to learn and wants to please!! At the shelter, he was petty neutral to the dogs around him, but has not been around other dogs at his current foster--he will become very excited and a bit reactive when he sees other dogs, but it's felt with slow introductions with similar sized dogs, he probably would be fine. Due to his mouthiness jumping, and chasing, he will not be placed with cats, young kids, or small dogs. Gabriel needs a fenced in yard where he can run and play. He is crate trained. He really needs someone with some experience who can work with him and provide him with an outlet for his energy and intelligence! Gabriel is a true diamond in the rough, with some work, he has a lot of potential, as a really active family companion or even performance prospect! He is a very nice young dog.
