If you are looking for a really nice dog that is out of the puppy stage but with lots of life and love to share,  look no further than Candy, she is desperately looking for you!!

Candy is an amazing dog! One of 100+ dogs from a hoarding case in Kentucky,  you would never know she didn't grow up in a house! A young adult,  she is estimated around 4 or 5, and has had at least one litter of puppies before being rescued from the hoarder.  She has absolutely loved every single human she's met (though untested at this time with smaller humans). She is great with other dogs,  and (predictably) very good at entertaining herself.  Loves,  loves LOVES bones and chew toys  - working on telling the difference between "chew toy" and "nottachewtoy!). As my foster,  I have managed that mostly by managing the environment and not allowing her to practice inappropriate chewing.

She seemed thrilled with the first squeaky toy she found - until it died... the tough chew squeaky replacement was an instant hit.

Candy is very active,  but is really good at keeping herself busy! She also seems to enjoy watching the world outside her window.  We are actively working on rewarding a single alarm bark and then watching quietly when she sees something.  She very quickly adapted to a crate and is very,  very good in her crate.  She can wear a muzzle (all dogs here learn that) but would only ever need one in extreme circumstances.

Candy now has a lovely default sit,  and is getting better on leash. She is wonderful for routine maintenance such as nails and brushing.

I think this dog could do any activity her human enjoys. I have started Candy in scentwork and she is doing great.  I will include one of my training kits if her new family is interested in continuing in that activity!
