COURTESY POST:

Hera is a very sweet one year old spayed female currently located in Connecticut.

Hera was originally found by animal control wandering around the streets as a puppy and had been in search of her forever home for several months when she was recently transferred to The Animal   Rescue Foundation.

She is up-to-date on all vaccines and is microchipped.

She warms up to new people quickly and is great with men and women and absolutely loves attention.   She is engaged and will invite you to play with her by giving a gentle poke with her toy.

Hera enjoys hopping in the car for a trip. She rides well in the backseat.

She is very athletic and would potentially make a great dog sport dog doing something she enjoys.   She has the potential to do something like frisbee, agility, or fast cat.   She is very ball and food motivated and   loves to learn new things.   She is a quick study - not only is she brilliant, she very much wants to please her human.

A volunteer takes her for a walks on a local trail and she does well when walking by people, dogs and geese. Even when neighborhood dogs charge the property line barking she pays no mind and shows no reactivity.

Hera's past experience with directly interacting with other dogs is limited. The trainer at the rescue introduced Hera to another dog and it went well.

She would do best in a home that does not have cats or small animals and will not be adopted to a home with small children

She is good in a kennel but because she has not lived in a home, she will require some house training.

This sweet girl has so much potential and is in search of a home with someone that has experience with high drive dogs such as Malinois, or GSDs.   Someone that will provide structure and continue her training.

If you are interested in learning more about Hera or would like to add this sweet girl to your home, please contact Holly at Animal Rescue Foundation via TEXT: 860-559-3863.
