Whiskey is a young, very petite, female currently located in Pennsylvania.  She is spayed, UTD on vaccinations, and weighs 43 lbs.  She was found as a stray with at least one other female thought to be her sister.  Based on her appearance, she had been through a lot as she had serious wounds when the shelter picked her up but she has since healed.

Whisky has a very endearing, cute personality.

She is cautious of strangers but with proper introductions and some treats, she will become your best friend quickly.  She bonds very tightly to her humans and will follow them everywhere (even to the bathroom).  She is not cat tested but has a keen interest in moving critters outside such as squirrels and bunnies.  She is still a puppy and can be rough so will not be placed in a home with small children under 12.  She ignores the other dogs in the foster home except for the young female that is very intense - Whisky can sometimes get amped up because she feeds off of that dog's energy but with supervsion, they are fine.

Whisky is not high drive.  Her foster mom takes her for hikes and when Whisky gets home, she will easily relax.  She is very content to sit at your feet and chew on a marrow bone while you watch TV, work on the computer, or read a book.

Whisky apparently never played with toys so she is not keen on fetch at this point. She likes to chase a ball but as soon as it stops moving, she doesn't know what to do with it.  So not a lot of toy drive at the moment but she is highly food motivated and will enthusiastically work for it!

She is great on leash and does not pull.  She knows sit, down, and drop it.  She knows how to relax on cue and will scoot backwards to get your attention that she is doing such a good job of it - it is very cute!  Sit is her default behavior - if she is in a situation where she doesn't know what to do, she does a really cute 'at attention' sit.  She is happy to get into her crate when asked.

She was not house trained when she came to her current foster but the foster mom has been working with her to signal when she has to go potty and although it is still a work in progress, she is doing much better.  Keeping her on a schedule is the key.

Because Whisky had such a stark beginning, her foster mom has spent a lot of time working on building Whisky's confidence.  It has made a night and day difference in her and she has blossomed tremendously since going to her foster mom.  She will need to go to a family that will spend time to continue this work and provide consistency and structure so that she continues to look to her human for guidance.
