“Kia” is a super friendly boy and will definitely be a velcro dog.  I would say absolutely no kids under 12.  Not because he's mean he's just big and has no problem doing body slams if you aren't paying attention when he comes running at you.  He is all Malinois in activity level and would make a fantastic running or hiking buddy.  I think he would excel at nose work, barn hunt, dock diving (all 3 divisions within dock diving), agility and obedience.

Kia does well in his crate until he sees or hears someone moving around and then he thinks he needs to be with you right then.  We are having a time with him marking, including other dogs next to him.  We are hopeful most of this will stop once his hormone levels are more normal (it can take 45-90 days after neutering for things to reach normal levels).

Kia can be aloof when first meeting people. He is great with all females but needs a easy going, confident yet understanding male.  He has an excellent recall, especially when treats are involved, and doesn't challenge any boundaries (fences).  He does like to launch himself at you on a recall but, if you tell him to sit when he gets close, he will comply.

Kia has been out with all kinds of female dogs and he's been fine, playfully pushy but not over the top.  He is a butt when any male dogs come close to him so I've not pushed that for safety reasons.  I think a smaller, low key boy would be fine. When I say smaller, I mean Labrador size not shih tzu size.  He pays absolutely no attention to our cat other than a lip curl when she was being extra needy (meowing and trying to rub up on him).  She is dog savvy and especially Malinois savvy.

I know we say this all the time, but he definitely needs and active home.  The more hiking, running, fetch etc, the better for him.  He needs a Malinois savvy home that understands and can work with his level of Malinois crazy.  He loves toys and chasing a ball but you definitely need two if you want them back.  He struggles to keep both feet on the ground!

We are working on loose leash walking, not marking, appropriate greetings and other basic things.
