The ownership of a Belgian Malinois, like any pet is a serious responsibility that requires a long term commitment. It is the goal of the Malinois rescue program to be sure that this responsibility, as well as the financial, psychological needs of each Malinois, be met in its new home. This application has been designed to help prospective Malinois adopters address the issues that would directly affect their home and its suitability for a Malinois as well as aiding us in applicant evaluation.

Please take your time, review the form before beginning to fill it out. Have all the information at hand to insure that you can complete the form once you begin.

If your adoption application is approved we ask for an adoption fee. Adoption Fees will vary, please refer to each Malinois's description for adoption fee information. Adoption fees are due and payable at the time you sign the ABMR adoption contract. Any additional contribution you may be able to make is appreciated since our adoption fee rarely covers the total amount expended in shelter fees, spaying/neutering and vet care.

Are you applying for a specific Malinois? Did you click on the application link in that dog's profile. If not please DO NOT EXPECT a timely response from that dog's coordinator. Applications are specific to each dog's coordinator. In the event Dog 1 is no longer available your application will be shared with the coordinator's for Dog 2 and 3. It's very important to ABMR Rescue that coordinator's respond in a timely manner, but improperly submitted applications result in extended delays.

Adoption Process: We do not adopt out Malinois on a first come first served basis. The final adoption of an ABMR Rescued Malinois is the result of the collaboration of many people. The dog's original rescuer, the coordinator, the person that performs the home check and the foster who knows the dog the best. All provide information that is used to insure the Malinois is adopted by the best home for that particular dog. Our final objective is to make good matches between dogs and families to ensure life long adoptions.
